Kaleidescape enters streaming with multiyear Warner Bros. deal
Kaleidescape, a provider of high-end home theater equipment, has entered into a licensing deal with Warner Bros. Digital Distribution that will give it access to a library of roughly 3,000 films and 8,000 TV episodes. Under the multiyear agreement -- which includes support for the nascent Ultraviolet standard -- users of Kaleidescape's media servers will be able to stream and download popular titles such as the "Harry Potter" series and "The Lord of the Rings," marking a first for the company. "We've never, ever done electronic delivery," Kaleidescape co-founder Cheena Srinivasan said.
