Iowa district moves toward inclusion-based special education
A plan adopted by the school board in Davenport, Iowa, provides for more inclusion-based special education and outlines the district's methods for meeting the needs of its students in special education. Created by educators with input from the public, the special-education delivery plan is aimed at positioning district schools to meet state requirements that 75% of students in special education spend at least 80% of learning time in inclusion classes by the end of the 2010-11 school year.
