U.N. observes International Day of Persons with Disabilities

In commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the U.N. today is recognizing the obstacles faced by an estimated 10% of the world's population who are disabled or have a close family member with disabilities -- most of whom live in developing countries. The U.N. and advocates are asking countries to adopt laws and policies supporting the rights of people with disabilities.
