N.J. high school adds life-skills program to special education

A new life-skills curriculum is being offered for students with special needs at New Jersey's New Egypt High School. The 12-Plus program will help students who remain in special education until they are 21 make an easier transition to life in the workplace and the community, and includes an area set up to look like an apartment to teach life skills. Officials said the program is also part of a larger effort by the district to keep students with special needs in schools near their homes.
