School uses RTI to identify students who need specialized instruction
Educators at a Washington state school are assessing student reading earlier and working to improve abilities through a Response to Intervention program. Every student at one elementary school reads for a few minutes with an adult at the start of the school year. Those with difficulties receive individualized instruction to boost their reading abilities. Educators plan to use the method with math in coming years.
