More special education disputes resolved with alternative methods
More than 80% of special education IDEA requests never make it to the hearing stage, according to Philip Moses, the assistant director of the Consortium for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education. Instead, a recent analysis found states often use mediation, parent interventions and other methods to repair strained communication between parents and schools.
