Talent shortage hinders health IT deployments, report says
Health IT deployments are being hindered by a shortage of tech skills, a PricewaterhouseCoopers report says. The analysis cites a CHIME survey that indicated 67% of health IT leaders said they lack staff, and 59% say the staffing issue is a challenge in meeting federal requirements for EHRs. "It's also a shortage of people with the skills to marry technological savvy with business strategy as health care becomes more connected, coordinated and accountable," PwC's Daniel Garrett says.
