Intel touts chip for mobile devices
Intel says it's putting the final touches on "Merrifield," an Atom smartphone chip with 3D transistors that may extend battery life. It will mark the first time Intel has applied its advanced production technology for PCs to mobile devices. The new chip reportedly will support Asustek's 7-inch Fonepad, an Android tablet and phone combination.
