Home prices post 9th straight monthly gain, survey finds
According to the S&P/Case Shiller index, U.S. home prices rose 0.7% in 20 metropolitan areas in October, marking the ninth consecutive monthly advance. The year-on-year increase was 4.3%. "[I]t is clear that the housing recovery is gathering strength," said David Blitzer, chairman of the Standard & Poor's index committee.
