Shareholders demand disclosure of companies' political spending
In shareholder meetings across the U.S., investors are calling for increased transparency in how companies spend money for lobbying and to support political causes and groups. The Sustainable Investments Institute found that nearly a third of shareholder resolutions scheduled for voting this year call for greater disclosure of political spending and lobbying.
