White House ramps up efforts to get Bernanke confirmed

The Obama administration is pushing to get the Senate votes needed to confirm Ben Bernanke for a second term as chairman of the Federal Reserve. Senate leaders indicated that they believed Bernanke would be confirmed, although it was not a certainty, according to this article. "He's going to have bipartisan support in the Senate, and I would anticipate he'd be confirmed," Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Sunday.
