Record number of taxpayers file electronic returns

Two-thirds of individual taxpayers filed electronic returns in 2009, the Internal Revenue Service says. A record total of 95 million returns were e-filed. The total number of tax returns is up 10% in the past decade, while the number of electronic returns has increased 168%. More than one-third of electronic filers did so from their home computers.
