Realtors' pending home sales index up 1% in December
The number of houses put under contract but not yet sold in December was up 1% from the previous month's figure, the National Association of Realtors said. The group's pending home sales index went from 95.6 in November to 96.6 in December. The index for December was 10.9% above its reading for the same month in 2008.
