Azerbaijan’s Baku Flame Towers: An icon for city's skyline
The Baku Flame Towers in Azerbaijan, which is designed by HOK architects and developed by Azinko Development, are "shaped to resemble three flames and shrouded in orange and blue tinted glass which encases a honeycombed roofed podium." The three buildings are linked at the base of the structure and are designed to withstand future natural disasters such as earthquakes. The design "represents a changing time for the city, and that in itself helps give the development iconic status," writes Jemilla Russell-Clough.
