Apple said to be losing firm control over accessories
Makers of accessories for digital devices have tried to break free of Apple's firm control over their distribution efforts, aided in part by the Bluetooth wireless standard, which has enabled accessory makers to seek more open-ended solutions for hooking up devices. "At some point Appleā€™s obsession with having control over everything that is associated with its products may wind up biting it," said Jeremy Horwitz, who runs iLounge, a site dedicated to Apple accessories.
