Regulators issue EU-wide mandate for more 4G spectrum
The 27 EU member states have until June 2014 to open up an additional 120 MHz of radio spectrum for 4G Long-Term Evolution services. EU Commissioner Neelie Kroes said the additional spectrum is needed to ensure "harmonized liberalization" among member states and to address an estimated 26% increase in broadband demand by 2015.
