Malware writers flock to Android, but U.S. dodges the bullet
The mobile marketplace was flooded with more infected Android applications in the third quarter, but less than 0.3% of North American smartphone users have been affected. Finnish security firm F-Secure says it identified 50,000 malicious Android programs in the third quarter and 40% of infected smartphones are in China, Russia or elsewhere in Eastern Europe.
