Samsung Electronics won a round Monday in its global patent struggle with Apple when the U.S. International Trade Commission announced it will reconsider an administrative law judge's ruling in favor of Apple, saying that it expects to issue a decision Jan. 14. Samsung has claimed that Apple's iPhone and iPad violated its patents and has sought a ban on their import. On another patent front, HTC head Peter Chou termed "outrageous" media estimates of the license fees the smartphone maker will pay Apple as part of their recent agreement.
