Lowe's, Verizon team for home monitoring
Lowe's gave CDMA-based carriers a boost in agreeing to sell a USB modem for its home monitoring system that will work over Verizon Wireless' 3G network, a breakthrough in an industry where North American alarm firms have deployed GSM/GPRS technology in working with cellular communications. Lowe's introduced its Iris-brand system in July that was strictly for landline networks. Pricing for the new modem was not disclosed.
