Employers move to turn off mobile devices in downtime
A growing number of companies are looking to create what they consider to be a healthier work-life balance by encouraging employees to turn off their mobile devices when they are away from the office, at least with those tasks that are professionally related. "I wanted to make sure that what happened to me didn't happen to my employees," said executive Sam Chapman, who told of the lifestyle problems caused by remaining in constant touch with his BlackBerry e-mail -- even in the middle of the night.
