Pew: Texting on the rise, but not revenues
Americans are sending more text messages over their cellphones than ever before, according to a Pew Research Center report that found 80% of cellphone owners were texting in the spring of 2012 compared with 58% in the summer of 2007. And yet, carriers are earning less revenue because consumers are relying more on free, Web-based texting applications. Pew also said 82% of those surveyed take photos on their phones and 44% record video.
