Nortel holding onto LTE patents as court OKs sale
U.S. and Canadian courts signaled their approval Tuesday of Nortel Networks' $1.13 billion sale of its wireless divisions to Ericsson, a move that may bring the Canadian government into the fray. Nortel has not disposed of all of its wireless assets: The bankrupt vendor will hold onto its LTE patents, according to a company attorney, and will license them to Ericsson.
