FCC may boost wireless broadband with TV airwaves allocation

Given the FCC's concerns about a lack of spectrum for wireless broadband, it is considering taking back a few TV channels and giving the airwaves to wireless providers. "The record is very clear that we're facing a looming spectrum gap," said Blair Levin, the former telecom analyst now in charge of creating the FCC's national broadband plan. The Wall Street Journal says station owners are likely to fight the plan.
