Medicare voucher plan's impact would vary by region
Fifty-nine percent of Medicare enrollees would have had to switch to cheaper plans or pay higher premiums if proposals to offer seniors vouchers with which to buy health insurance were in place in 2010, a Kaiser Family Foundation study found. Premiums would increase by less in regions where Medicare costs are low and by more in areas where Medicare costs are higher, such as in Los Angeles and Miami.
