Community-based intervention may lower diabetes risk
Almost 50% of participants who underwent a community-based lifestyle initiative guided by health workers lost at least 5% of their body weight and lowered their risk of type 2 diabetes, compared with 15% of the group that received standard care, a follow-up study in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine revealed.
