Type 2 diabetes elevates periodontitis risk in men
Men with type 2 diabetes had a 39% increased risk of periodontitis onset than those without the disease, according to a study based on data from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study. Researchers also found men with type 2 diabetes were 22% more likely to suffer tooth loss than those without diabetes. The findings were published in Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice.
