Calif. district cites benefits of in-class breakfast
In California, 63,000 more students participated in the School Breakfast Program in 2012 than in the year before, according to recently released data. In the Adelanto School District, eight schools serve breakfast in the classroom, and officials are considering options for serving meals to students after school as well. Officials say that since the breakfast program was implemented, students have been better behaved, and the goal is for students to carry healthy eating habits with them into adulthood.
