Medical students increasingly turn to primary care, data show
The number of medical students opting for primary care reached 7,328 this year, an increase of almost 400, while primary care matches also rose, according to data from the National Resident Matching Program. The Affordable Care Act has helped raise the profile of primary care, said Dr. Wayne Riley of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn.
