A study in Diabetes Care found most type 1 diabetes patients felt positive about their spouses' involvement and care and said the condition helped them grow closer as a couple. However, some participants said greater emotional distance, sexual intimacy issues and hypoglycemia management were among the concerns associated with diabetes.
