Poll: Most providers recommend OTC drugs to patients
Ninety-eight percent of health care professionals recommend over-the-counter drugs to their patients, while nearly 75% of primary care physicians do so before suggesting prescription medicines, a survey by the Consumer Healthcare Products Association showed. Researchers also found 84% of patients trust their provider's OTC recommendations.
