Diabetic kidney disease rates vary by race, ethnicity
Racial and ethnic minorities including Chinese, Filipinos, Hispanics and non-Hispanic blacks showed higher rates of proteinuric diabetic kidney disease than non-Hispanic whites, a study in Diabetes Care indicated. However, a lower prevalence of nonproteinuric DKD was seen in some minority groups compared with non-Hispanic whites, researchers noted.
