Experts create system to predict diabetes-related amputations

Using a new score system to predict amputation in patients with diabetes, researchers found that those who scored equal to or greater than 21 were at 50% risk of lower-extremity amputations. The new system may help identify patients at higher risk of amputation upon admission, experts reported in Diabetes Care.
