CubeTree Positioned in Visionaries Quadrant of Leading Industry Analyst Firm’s Magic Quadrant for Social Software in the Workplace
Nov 04, 2009 7:00 AM CST
REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- CubeTree today announced that Gartner Inc. positioned CubeTree in the Visionaries Quadrant of the “2009 Magic Quadrant for Social Software in the Workplace.”1 The Magic Quadrant positions vendors based on their ability to execute and completeness of vision.
According to the report authored by Gartner analysts Nikos Drakos, Carol Rozwell, Anthony Bradley and Jeffrey Mann, “Visionaries in the market demonstrate a strong understanding of current and future market trends and directions, such as the importance of a flexible and transparent collaboration environment, as well as the value of mutual reinforcement between tools that encourage user contribution and tools that encourage bottom-up group and structure formation. Their products and product road maps display a penchant for innovation, especially in terms of architecture and lightweight integration, while their marketing and R&D efforts are boosted by their alignment with the open source ecosystem. The Visionaries in this market have not exhibited the scope of delivery of the Challengers or Leaders, but have demonstrated vision across a range of capabilities.”
Launched in May 2009, CubeTree’s hosted collaboration suite helps companies create internal social networks. CubeTree’s social networking features include profiles, microblogging, tagging and activity feeds for 30+ types of feed items. A company's CubeTree network is private to the company, free for any number of employees and comes with enterprise-ready security and administration. To help employees collaborate better, applications like wikis, microblogging, file-sharing, link-sharing, polls and group chat are integrated into CubeTree’s social networking platform, and included for free. CubeTree supports 20+ built-in integrations, from consumer software like Twitter to enterprise applications like CRM and Google Apps, and a rich API enables custom integrations.
“We view CubeTree’s positioning in the Visionaries quadrant of Gartner’s 2009 Magic Quadrant for Social Software in the Workplace as further validation of our approach to delivering an innovative social software suite,” said Carlin Wiegner, chief executive officer and co-founder of CubeTree. “We believe that our approach is differentiated in two significant ways: our aggressive speed of product innovation, enabled by weekly releases, helps us deliver cutting-edge solutions to meet customer needs in the fast-moving social software market; and our viral adoption capabilities, enabled by a highly intuitive user interface combined with freemium pricing and software-as-a-service (Saas) delivery model, helps companies get business value from social software with the lowest possible cost and risk. We believe that this approach to building and delivering social software is the way of the future, and will shape the enterprise social software industry.”
