Colo. governor wants to keep incentives for bioscience firms in budget

Colorado should retain a $5 million incentive allocated for bioscience startups even though the state needs to address an estimated $600 million shortfall in the 2009 budget, Gov. Bill Ritter said. John Collar, president of Colorado BioScience Association, said he is optimistic that the Legislature will approve the funding, citing the industry's ability to generate more jobs and bolster the state's economy.
