FDA confirms 5-year market exclusivity for Vyvanse

The FDA has confirmed that Vyvanse, Shire's drug for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, is entitled to market exclusivity until Feb. 23, 2012. The decision prevents Actavis and other generic-drug firms from launching their versions of the product until the five-year protection period expires.
