UBS reportedly is close to settling rate-rigging claims
UBS may soon settle claims by U.K. and U.S. authorities that some employees helped manipulate interest rates, sources say. The Swiss banking giant is expected to pay more than $450 million, the sources said. The case is expected to provide some insight into the systemic issues in the process for setting benchmarks such as the London Interbank Offered Rate.
