CS08 Company of the Week: The PNC Financial Services Group

The Financial Services Roundtable SmartBrief | Nov 06, 2008

The PNC Financial Services Group understands that the long-term vitality of the communities where it does business is both a solemn responsibility and good business sense. To assist with that commitment, PNC employees from the Philadelphia/southern New Jersey market conducted their most successful Preschool Supply Drive to date by collecting more than 30,000 new preschool supplies in September. The items were collected in support of PNC "Grow Up Great" initiative, a 10-year, $100 million investment to help prepare children from birth to age 5 -- with a focus on underserved children -- for success in school and life. At the conclusion of the drive, the supplies were sorted and organized at a United Way Day of Caring event at the Eastwick, Pa., Operations Center on Sept. 10.
