BB&T's King says Colonial integration ready by 2010
BB&T Chief Executive Officer Kelly King said Thursday that the integration of the recently acquired Colonial Bank would be completed by 2010. Mr. King foresaw no problems with the integration. Mr. King added that the bank would continue to seek strategic acquisitions, although not at the rate it did before the financial crisis. "We're not going back to the days of doing 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 mergers a year," Mr. King said. "And we're going to pursue them only when they make strategic sense."
