Barclays gives control of commercial bank to Diamond

Barclays President Robert Diamond will take over direction of the group's commercial bank after Frits Seegers' resignation, the bank said in a statement Tuesday. Mr. Diamond will also run investment banking and wealth management. Barclaycard Chief Executive Officer Antony Jenkins will be given the management of retail banking for the U.K., Europe and emerging markets.
