More women work full time, but wage gap persists, data indicate
Women earned about 79 cents for every dollar earned by men between 2009 and 2011, even though their employment numbers increased while those for men decreased in that period, according to Census Bureau data. Between 2007 and 2009, women earned 78 cents for every dollar earned by men.
