Presidential election may demonstrate large gender gap in politics
There appears to be a large gender gap in this presidential election: Women favor President Barack Obama, and men tend to support Mitt Romney. The gender gap isn't new to American politics, and it seemed to intensify after reproductive rights became a focus of presidential campaigns following the Supreme Court's 1973 ruling in Roe v. Wade. The gap may be due to the fact that women tend to be more liberal when it comes to social issues.
