A pledge to work toward a sustainable cocoa industry was signed at the World Cocoa Conference by Nestle, Ferrero, Mars and Mondelez International. Additional companies are expected to sign soon. The pledge calls for participants "to aim to improve the living standards and working conditions of populations engaged in the cocoa sector."
