Study finds patient interaction declining among medical interns
A study in the Journal of General Internal Medicine showed medical interns spent just 12% of their working hours interacting with patients, compared with the 40% of time they spent using a computer. Patient interaction was down from the 18% to 22% of time spent in 1989 and 1993.
