Stiffed by the academy, "Avatar" settles for tweets
If Academy Award winners were seeking major boosts in online buzz, most were out of luck as winners tended to see a substantial but brief spike in Twitter mentions. Sandra Bullock gained the most and longest-lasting buzz of any actor. And while "The Hurt Locker" cleaned up at the awards show, "Avatar" appears to have won the Twitter war, according to this article.
