Canadian retailers import more Black Friday traditions
Black Friday's shopping traditions are moving north, as more Canadian malls and retailers adopt the U.S. tradition of opening early and offering deals to kick off the holiday shopping season the day after Thanksgiving. "Our retail sector has to work hard to remain competitive and keep shoppers north of the border," said Martin Wray, a vice president at Cadillac Fairview, which will open nine of its Ontario malls early.
