Canadian retail landlords Cadillac Fairview Corp. and Oxford Properties Group are fiercely wooing department store tenants including Nordstrom, Holt Renfrew and La Maison Simons, which generate higher sales and drive traffic. The renewed demand for department store anchors after several years of cooling interest stems in large part from Target's 2011 announcement that it would enter the market, experts say.
