FINRA focuses on advisers' discretionary trades
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority is increasing disciplinary action against financial advisers who make discretionary trades without getting written authorization from clients. Since January, FINRA has initiated 17 cases of disciplinary action for failure to follow the rule, nearly double the number in the comparable period last year.
