Depression has hit 12% of workers at some point, Gallup finds
About 12% of U.S. workers have been diagnosed with depression at some point in their lives, according to the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index. Absences linked to depression cost employers more than $23 billion in lost productivity a year. Part-time workers are more likely to suffer from depression than full-time ones, Gallup finds.
