Counterfeit chips were found in U.S. Navy aircraft

Counterfeit semiconductors were discovered last year in U.S. Navy helicopters and planes, along with military cargo planes, according to the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee. With 1,800 incidences of counterfeit chips for military applications uncovered in 2011, more than two-thirds of those chips came from sources in China, the committee reported.
