Nov 4 (Reuters) - Akers Biosciences Inc (AKR.L) warned its 2009 results would be "substantially" below market expectations, hurt by lack of U.S. government contracts for its BreathScan products, sending the British diagnostic test kits maker's shares down as much as 18 percent.

When there's no time to send a sample off to the lab, Akers Biosciences steps up. The company manufactures a variety of point-of-care rapid diagnostic tests.
